We welcome all candidates who are inspired by our work and mission. The Washington County Circuit Court in Hillsboro, Oregon, is hiring a Civil Case Processing Clerk (Court Operations Associate). In this role, you will process documents and case files for civil case filings. You will open new cases in the electronic case management system. You will process a variety of documents, including motions, orders, and judgments, and route them to the appropriate judge or department. You will review paperwork for accuracy and completeness and will work with other court staff to make corrections and resolve issues. You will process the mail. You will scan and copy documents. You will also answer multiline phones and help customers at the public counter. Additionally, you will have courtroom duties associated with landlord/tenant cases. This work includes managing the parties before courtroom proceedings and reviewing a variety of legal documents. You will spend part of your time providing backup coverage within the Civil unit. Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least three (3) or more years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving the processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to three (3) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position
  • Experience performing a variety of clerical or administrative support tasks with strict deadlines in a busy business or professional setting
  • Experience using a variety of software programs to access and input information and complete various tasks
  • Experience providing customer service to a variety of individuals in challenging circumstances
  • Experience explaining processes, procedures, or policies on behalf of an employer
  • Experience and skill in writing and reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness

  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is preferred
