This position exists to oversee the daily functions of course placement and testing center. This includes the administration, collection, scoring, and interpretation of self-guided placement and multiple measures, instructor-arranged tests, and any special testing the College provides in the Testing Center. The individual in this position will maintain the testing database and statistics. This person is also responsible for communication to students and other stakeholders via web pages, voice, and email, regarding course placement and the Testing Center. The primary purpose of this professional position is to test, advise, and guide current and prospective students with placement information and testing results. This position will have expert knowledge of state and MinnState rules and regulations to maintain the integrity of testing and school policies. This position will provide clear, understandable guidance to students and staff on all testing-related information. To do this, the incumbent will attend annual training to maintain current certification, maintain current working knowledge of testing requirements of self-guided placement and other exams, providing guidance to students to resolve problems and overcome barriers under limited supervision. It maintains relationships with students, college departments, and faculty and has knowledge of the college’s goals and objectives so that office activities are consistent with the overall educational program.
