The County Administrative Supervisor works under general supervision is responsible for performing administrative duties and analysis and may function as a lead worker or working supervisor. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. The County Administrative Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily administrative operations of a county-based office or service center under a state agency. This role ensures the smooth functioning of all office and support functions including personnel oversight, facility coordination, service delivery support, and public interaction. The County Administrative Supervisor serves as a vital link between the county office and state-level leadership to ensure operational efficiency, policy compliance, and high-quality service to the community.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Arkansas driver’s license (per OPM)
  • Travel, including overnight
  • Lifting up to 20 pounds, frequent stooping and bending, ability to sit for extended periods of time including riding in a vehicle
  • Extensive computer work utilizing Microsoft Office Suite
  • Occasional overtime, ability to utilize current phone system, clear enunciation, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in managing workloads, delegating responsibilities, and fostering accountability.
  • Clear, professional verbal and written communication with staff, community members, and agency leadership.
  • Proficient in scheduling, filing systems, and administrative workflows.
  • Strong customer service orientation and conflict resolution skills.
  • A high school diploma is required

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day administrative and clerical functions of a county office, including staff scheduling, facility coordination, document management, and supply procurement.
  • Oversee county-based personnel, including administrative staff, front desk support, and clerical assistants.
  • Ensure compliance with state agency policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
  • Serve as the primary contact for local office facility issues, including maintenance requests, safety inspections, and security coordination.
  • Act as liaison between the county office and state division or regional managers to relay operational updates, resource needs, and service challenges.
  • Monitor customer service delivery, address public inquiries, and manage escalated issues or complaints.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing training for county office staff.
  • Maintain records, prepare operational reports, and assist with budgeting and procurement at the county level.
