About The Position

The Country Club Restaurant Maître d’ oversees front-of-house food and beverage operations, ensuring high service standards, operational efficiency, and profitable performance. The role supervises two Food & Beverage Supervisors who manages beverage cart services, the Hole-in-One outlet, and golf tournament award catering through Iguanas Restaurant. The Maître d’ is responsible for service execution, labor and payroll control, revenue growth initiatives, and employee engagement, while coordinating closely with culinary and golf operations to deliver seamless member and tournament experiences.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 2 or more years of related experience.
  • Must have knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish languages required.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership presence, inspiring and motivating teams while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Builds and develops high-performing teams through coaching, feedback, and continuous performance management.
  • Drives operational excellence by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and ensuring consistent execution of standards.
  • Exercises sound judgment and decision-making, confidently leading through challenges and high-pressure situations.
  • Communicates with clarity and influence, aligning teams, promoting collaboration, and reinforcing organizational goals.
  • Ability to stand for extended hours.
  • The ability to work through long shifts, including late-night hours and/or weekends.
  • Ability to work effectively in a loud, crowded setting.
  • Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Nice To Haves

  • Safety and Food Handling Certification preferred.
  • Valid Alcohol Training Certification (TIPS) preferred.
  • Valid Health Certificate (including throat culture results) as required by the Puerto Rico Department of Health.
