The Counter Sales Representative is responsible for establishing and maintaining positive rapport with customers through effective communication and prompt service. This role involves handling various counter sales transactions, including order entry, creating quotes, and processing credit/cash transactions. The representative will sell equipment, tools, parts, accessories, materials, and supplies to dealers, contractors, service firms, and other industrial accounts. Key responsibilities include regularly checking product stock, staying knowledgeable about the company's product portfolio, recommending add-on items, and advising customers on product substitutions or modifications. The position requires providing accurate price points from the company database, receiving and filling telephone and PROKEEP orders, and assisting customers with technical solutions. Consistent follow-up with customers and sales consultants, preparing items for shipping, handling returns, and completing warranty paperwork are also crucial. The representative will collaborate with outside/inside sales teams, maintain and organize shelves, assist with inventory control, ensure the store area is sanitary, and help customers with loading merchandise. Teamwork with fellow CSRs is essential for continuous customer service. Attendance at branch meetings, technical training sessions, and general company meetings is required. The role also demands availability to work after hours, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis, and during a mandatory inventory weekend every November.
