Position Overview The Counter Sales Associate is the main point of contact for customers, providing friendly and knowledgeable service at the counter, by phone or through email. They assist with product selection, technical support, quotes, billing and resolving customer issues while ensuring accurate order processing and documentation. When not helping customers, they support warehouse tasks such as receiving and organizing freight and transfers, performing cycle counts and keeping the workspace clean and efficient using safe manual handling practices. Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, with experience in an automotive paint store and customer service a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to handle customer interactions professionally and maintain confidentiality.
  • A good command of written and spoken English is required, and candidates must align with the company's mission.
  • Physical stamina is needed for standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and performing repetitive tasks.
  • A business-like demeanor, sound decision-making, and ownership of tasks are key to success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service through counter sales, assisting with product selection, pricing and availability
  • Process customer orders via phone, email or in person, including mixing or tinting paint as needed
  • Address customer concerns professionally and escalate unresolved issues to management
  • Support warehouse tasks during slower periods, including receiving freight, organizing inventory and performing cycle counts
  • Ensure accurate invoicing and maintain a clean, safe workspace by following proper handling and safety procedures
