Ferguson is now hiring a Counter Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our HVAC wholesale and retail part's counter located in Deer Park, NY. Position Details Reports to the Market Branch Manager Direct oversight of 2-3 associates

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of prior sales experience plus 2-3 years supervisory experience
  • 3-5 years of HVAC Industry knowledge is required
  • Ability to handle numerous customers simultaneously
  • Ability to work with and analyze numbers
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work across department lines, manage time and people
  • Problem solving, leadership and listening skills
  • Able to initiate and embrace change, mentoring skills and desire to train others
  • The ability to serve a vast array of customers with varying levels of product knowledge
  • Ability to prioritize workload appropriately in order to balance multiple demands and meet timelines

Responsibilities

  • Leads the overall operation including hiring, providing constructive feedback to Counter Sales Reps, and scheduling of associates to ensure efficient and quality counter operations
  • Supervises the merchandising, organization and appearance of the counter
  • Effectively and professionally resolve complaints regarding products, customer purchases, and customer service
  • Approve volume discounts and pricing adjustments and resolve pricing discrepancies with customers
  • Train associates on product specifications, merchandising, counter organization, and sales
  • Develop new customers through direct advertising and promotional campaigns
  • Participate in leadership meetings and represent operational concerns, policies and guidelines to the management team
  • Continually focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
