Performs a full range of academic, personal, career, and transfer counseling activities with diverse student populations. These include but are not limited to, assisting college students, (which may include College Credit Plus students), in developing academic and career goals; creating and developing educational academic plans to degree/certificate completion and/or transfer; identifying and developing strategies and skills for adapting to the educational environment, and providing academic counseling to students in academic curriculum areas. Assists with New Student Orientations by providing individual academic counseling appointments and New Student Orientation presentations. May provide crisis intervention. May teach General Studies courses and student success workshops as needed. When teaching credit and non-credit courses: Prepares and delivers lectures or learning activities to students on various topics in order to achieve certain outcomes Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts Evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, and papers Maintains student attendance records, grades and other records Be available to students for coaching Periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and development
