About The Position

The Mental Health Provider will be responsible to engage in short term individual therapy with clients to assist them in trying to improve their physical health and emotional well being.

Requirements

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Graduate from an university program in psychology, counseling, social work, nursing or MSW.
Current license as a Psychologist, CNS, LISW/LMSW, LPC/C or LMHC.
Two (2) recent years clinical experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

Performing individual therapy and have at least some training in group therapy
Experience with bi-lingual counseling, trauma focused therapy, training in health psychology/ medical psychology, group therapy, and experience with patients who struggle with eating disorders

Responsibilities

Interviews and assesses patients and/or patient's family, caregivers, and/or legal representatives.
Determines, prioritizes, provides and/or arranges for needed internal and external services/interventions.
Participates in case reviews to evaluate case management and progress.
Consults with healthcare team members to promote, monitor, and evaluate compliance with patient's treatment plan.
Assists with discharge planning and processes.
Identifies appropriate resources, including transportation, housing, healthcare, and social/spiritual services, and provides referrals as part of the discharge plan.
Supervises and/or trains new staff, students, and interns.
Performs Medicaid screenings as indicated for NHP.
Assists patients with Safety Net applications when needed.
Conducts a biopsychosocial assessment of assigned patients.
Provides individualized brief therapy as appropriate to the patient, in collaboration with referral source.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
