About The Position

[Strategic Cost Management & Optimization] • Develop and execute cost management strategies and initiatives aligned with corporate objectives to ensure operational efficiency and financial performance. • Lead the identification, analysis, and implementation of cost-saving opportunities, including material, labor, and overhead reductions, across the organization. • Oversee and report on the Total Delivery Cost (TDC), including COGM, SG&A, and other financial components, to maintain profitability. [Essential Responsibilities] • Design and implement cost management policies and processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry best practices. • Manage and direct the Cost Accounting team, ensuring accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, finance, and procurement, to optimize cost structures and identify opportunities for improvement. • Conduct regular reviews of cost performance metrics, providing actionable insights and recommendations to executive leadership. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing cost variances and implementing corrective actions as needed. • Maintain compliance with corporate policies, local regulations, and international standards related to financial and operational cost management. • Serve as the primary liaison with headquarters (HMC) and North American regional offices (HMNA) for cost management and financial reporting matters. • Lead budgeting and forecasting activities for the cost management function, ensuring alignment with overall business plans. • Provide guidance and training to team members, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth within the department. HMGMA is the abbreviation of Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America. It is Hyundai Motor Group's first dedicated EV mass-production plant and is an innovative plant with cutting-edge production technology applied.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10–15 years of experience in cost management, financial planning, or a related role within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Bilingual in English and Korean
  • Extensive knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial analysis, and SAP systems.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to executive leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, CMA, or CFM certification preferred.
  • Bilingual in Korean and English (verbal and written communication proficiency preferred).
