The Role We have an immediate opportunity for a Cost Estimator for our Forensic Practice with experience in preparing cost estimations to support our multi-disciplinary engineering forensic investigations, litigation support, and risk loss consulting services including building and industrial solutions. The candidate will be expected to collaborate and communicate well with team members and review a variety of cost estimate scenarios.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, or an engineering discipline is preferred.
  • Experienced in building construction analysis and interpretation.
  • Previous experience with construction claims management.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for short durations for certain assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding construction and delay disruption claims process and appraisal services is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports that clearly express cost estimating with facts and sound construction principles.
  • Analyze construction project schedules, understand plans, specifications, contracts, and other typical construction documents.
  • Manage projects directly and independently as required.
  • Investigate the associated cost of repairs of existing buildings and remedial repairs for deficient conditions in combination with our engineering experts.
  • Work well and be proficient in pricing software inclusive of RS Means and Xactimate.
