About The Position

Rise Modular is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to own site-built and GC cost intelligence across target markets. This role is critical to ensuring Rise’s value proposition is credible, defensible, and grounded in real construction economics. This is not a deal-by-deal estimating role. It is a strategic cost intelligence and enablement role supporting BD strategy, pricing discipline, and market selection.

Requirements

5–10 years experience in estimating or pre-construction
Experience pricing real projects, not just conceptual models
Strong understanding of site work, GC scope, and risk allocation

Nice To Haves

Background at a mid-size general contractor
Experience with multifamily, hospitality, or mixed-use projects
Exposure to modular or off-site construction (not required)

Responsibilities

Site-Built Cost Research
Research and model traditional construction costs by:
Product type
Building typology
Geography
Develop cost benchmarks for key segments and markets
Scope Disaggregation & Analysis
Break down site and GC scopes into clear, comparable components
Identify areas where modular delivery creates cost, schedule, or risk advantages
Support value engineering of site-built scope
Cost Libraries & History
Maintain cost history database
Develop standardized assumptions for BD and white paper use
Validate assumptions with GC partners
Ecosystem Development
Build relationships with mid-size GCs in target markets
Use partner insight to validate pricing and execution assumptions
Inform preferred GC strategy
BD & Strategy Support
Support creation of cost comparison tools and market white papers
Inform pricing strategy and margin discipline
Provide cost insight to BD leadership — not bespoke deal pricing
