About The Position

They are seeking a reliable individual for a position as a COST ENGINEER II to join a dedicated and hard-working team in Wilton Campus. The Cost Engineer II builds upon foundational cost engineering responsibilities by taking greater ownership of project financial performance, forecasting accuracy, and cross-functional coordination. This role is responsible not only for reporting but also for proactively identifying risks, trends, and opportunities, and working with project teams to improve financial outcomes. The Cost Engineer II operates with increased independence and plays a key role in supporting project controls consistency across multiple or more complex projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, accounting, or related field required
  • 3–6 years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, or construction financial management
  • Strong understanding of cost tracking, forecasting, and revenue recognition principles
  • Ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable insights
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with project teams
  • Proficiency in construction management and financial software systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead job setup for assigned projects, including development of cost codes, budgets, and quantity tracking structures in coordination with estimating and project teams
  • Collect, validate, and analyze weekly production quantities and cost data from project teams
  • Develop and present weekly cost and production reports with clear identification of risks, trends, and variances
  • Prepare and maintain accurate monthly cost and revenue projections, including earned value analysis where applicable
  • Identify discrepancies between cost, quantities, and schedule, and work with project teams to resolve issues
  • Actively participate in project review meetings and provide insight into financial performance
  • Review and manage contract values, change orders, budget transfers, and job cost adjustments
  • Support and help improve forecasting methodologies and reporting consistency across projects
  • Assist in training and mentoring Cost Engineer I team members
  • Collaborate with accounting and operations to ensure alignment between financial reporting and project performance
