Applications will only be accepted while the posting remains active.Job SummarySupports the day-to-day operations of the cost coordination department.  Leads the acquisition, analysis, implementation, and management of material costs within the SAP ERP system.  Provides support to BSE branch locations for pricing and cost management functions and exemplifies core service standards of being responsive, accurate, responsive and engaged.  Leads the master data functions for material creation in SAP.  Ensures cost confidence by validating cost accuracy and ensuring costs exist on all active materials.  Reviews vendor price changes and works to ensure justification and market relevance and acceptance of all changes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a four-year business, technical, engineering or marketing degree preferred or the equivalent in work experience.
  • Prior customer service, sales or office administration experience with knowledge of operating variety of office equipment and ability to perform various data entry projects preferred.
  • Prefer strong working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint), Internet, Email, and SAP software.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English required.
  • Strong customer service skills including core service standards of being competent, accurate, responsive and engaged.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, presentation reading and analytical skills.
  • Basic understand and knowledge of pricing systems, process, procedures and methods.
  • Organizational and time management skills

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Leads the acquisition, analysis, implementation, and management of material costs within the SAP ERP system.
  • Responsible for the recovery and reconciliation of vendor rebate receivables.
  • Monitors purchase cost accuracy and vendor invoices and resolves discrepancies in procurement costs and supplier rebates when they occur.
  • Executes and analyzes various reports in SAP to support cost confidence and price validation.
  • Creates new material records in SAP and manage pricing master data fields.
  • Provides support to branch staff in adherence to Border States' service standards of courteous, accurate, responsive and engaged.
  • Meets/exceeds identified service expectations to Border States branches.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with Border States branch and corporate staff as well as assigned vendor contacts.
  • Monitors adherence to Border States cost confidence initiatives, ensuring no old cost conditions exist, and all active materials have a valid cost available for sale in SAP.
  • Reviews price changes from vendors for assigned lines (lists, nets, contracts, rebates) to understand impacts.
  • Works with vendors to ensure appropriate justification provided for all price changes and works to mitigate price changes not market relevant.
  • Identifies cost negotiation opportunities and evaluates impacts of newly negotiated costs on sell price strategy.
  • Supports vendor pricing audits on assigned lines.
  • Completes branch, customer and manufacturer visits to gain industry and field experience.
  • Complete required training as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or other designate.
