About The Position

Organogenesis Inc. is seeking an experienced Cost Accounting Manager to join our Finance Team. This individual will be a key contributor providing high level analysis of product costs, operations and margins. This role will report to the Director of Accounting and Operations. This is a hybrid position and will need to be on-site occasionally at our Canton, MA facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; prefer concentrations in business/finance/accounting. MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience preferably in a standard cost manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to adhere to tight reporting deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP, costing techniques, ERP/MRP systems and inventory controls.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain standard costs for all raw materials, WIP and finished goods
  • Ensure the accuracy of bills of material for existing and new products
  • Research and provide insight on variances including labor, yields, material usage, overhead and absorption
  • Develop and evaluate key performance indicators for manufacturing operations and implement product cost dashboards
  • Lead cost saving initiatives to improve gross margins
  • Assist with the annual budget and quarterly forecasts relating to cost of goods sold and margins
  • Work directly with various departments in a consultative role in identifying process improvements and manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on strategic plan updates and offer insights to opportunities and risks with respect to inventory and cost of goods sold
  • Reconcile general ledger inventory accounts to perpetual inventory reports on a monthly basis
  • Analyze inventory quantities and establish reserves for excess and obsolete items based on production and sales volumes
  • Prepare monthly management reports on spending variances, product costs, inventory trends and capacity utilization
  • Coordinate with operations to evaluate inventory controls
  • Key member of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation team
