About The Position

As a Cost Accounting Lead, you will support and trains Plant Cost Accounting Specialists while ensuring consistent application of cost accounting standards and standard cost processes across all plants. This role leads standard costing governance and consolidates manufacturing variances, inventory costing, and job profitability to identify root causes and financial impacts, partnering cross‑functionally to improve cost processes, strengthen financial controls, and ensure accurate, timely reporting. What You’ll Do Support and train Plant Cost Accounting Specialists, ensuring consistent application of cost accounting standards and processes across all plants Lead the development, implementation, and governance of the standard cost process, ensuring adherence and continuous improvement Consolidate and analyze manufacturing variances, job profitability, and inventory costing to identify root causes and financial impacts Partner with Cost Specialists on cost rolls, BOM analysis, standard cost updates, and identification of cost issues Drive cross-functional collaboration to resolve cost-related challenges, improve processes, and enhance operational efficiency Serve as the on-site leader for cost accounting process improvements, strengthening financial controls, reporting accuracy, and timeliness What We’re Looking For Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. 5 or more years of hands-on accounting experience in a manufacturing or product-based company Proficient in core accounting processes, such as reconciling accounts and assisting with month-end close Experience preparing or interpreting trial balances and financial statements Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) What Will Set You Apart Experience with SAP ERP systems Demonstrated ability to independently manage workload, ask the right questions, and deliver accurate results without constant oversight Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate or present information, both verbally and written effectively with all levels of the organization Strong Microsoft Excel skills #LI-FM1 Goodyear is one of the world's largest tire companies. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 5 or more years of hands-on accounting experience in a manufacturing or product-based company
  • Proficient in core accounting processes, such as reconciling accounts and assisting with month-end close
