Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Accounting Manager to join our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Multi-site Hollow Metal Controller. This role requires collaboration across a matrixed organization partnering with Operations, Engineering among other groups. This leader must also possess strong accounting, financial analysis, internal control, planning, and reporting skills as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 5-7 years of experience in the accounting function of a manufacturing environment
  • Strong computer and analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of close, reporting, and support tasks within the accounting department of an established manufacturing-oriented company.
  • Contribute to implementation of new ERP system and Configurator through testing, cost validation, standards setting, and creating new processes for the business to run effectively
  • Update and Maintain Plant Metrics working with Plant Controllers and distributed to operations and finance leadership
  • Analyze actual financial results. Provides recommendations to management to drive business results and achieve plant financial goals.
  • Assist with inventory process, prepare inventory valuation reports, spearhead Physical Inventories.
  • Prepare month end journal entries and reconciliations timely and accurately maintaining GAAP and FICAP compliance.
  • Partner with finance and plant leaders to gain alignment in processes.
  • Identify and implement projects to gain process consistency and improvements.
  • Must be able to effectively collaborate across the organization and positively influence business outcomes.
  • Must effectively communicate with business leaders across all functional areas.
  • Participate in cross functional and process improvement projects.
  • Review and provide recommendations on financial impact of plant projects.
  • Maintain and continually improve a robust and effective internal control environment.
  • Support SOX Site Coordinator through testing, remediation, and performance of mitigating controls.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, FICAP, and Sarbanes Oxley internal control requirements with all activities.
  • Work with plant leaders to enhance current processes.
  • Prevention, elimination, and timely close-out of control deficiencies.
