About The Position

The Cost Accountant role supports the cost accounting function for the manufacturing entities of Toyota Automated Logistics, ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial analytics.  This role combines technical accounting expertise with delivering timely and reliable cost information that supports operational and strategic decision making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and GAAP.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Excel, Microsoft D365 experience a plus.
  • Ability to work well with a diverse group of peers in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to the business.
  • Timely execution of assigned tasks with accuracy and strong communication channels – reporting to management and interface with coworkers on issues that arise.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; communicate effectively with team members and leaders.
  • Attention to details and a commitment to accuracy, quality, and integrity.
  • Extreme ownership mindset.
  • Demonstrate positive and infectious attitude, mutual respect, motivate and promote overall teamwork.
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred 2-3 years manufacturing or cost accounting experience.
  • Microsoft D365 experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Execute standard costing, variance analysis, and cost allocation
  • Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, labor, overhead, and material
  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation with ERP
  • Provide insights into cost drivers and recommend efficiency
  • Work with leadership to schedule and prioritize projects on a macro level; ability to prioritize individual tasks on your own.
  • Support annual budget preparation and rolling
  • Partner with operations in developing cost projections, monitor performance against
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, JSOX and ISO
  • Provide cost data for management reporting.
  • Support internal and external audits with cost-related
  • Uphold internal service level agreements for timely support and guidance to internal and external customers.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline cost accounting
  • Implement best practices in manufacturing cost control and
  • Constantly improve the process – minimize paperwork while further developing electronic workflows.
  • Cross train as back-up within the Cost Accounting group and location administration.
