About The Position

CLARK Material Handling Company, is a 100 year old company, and a global leader in the material handling and forklift industry. CLARK is seeking qualified candidates to join our team. The Cost Accountant is responsible for the compiling and preparing cost accounting information to be reported within financial statements and operating results of the company. This position will also provide accounting support and perspective in relation to sales and margin along with inventory for various divisions within the company. This position will participate in monthly closing process, analyzing B/S and P&L activities for area under their responsibility. This position will be located onsite in our Lexington, KY office within our Manufacturing facility.

Requirements

  • Four year degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of five years of accounting and/or finance experience with some cost accounting background.
  • Mastery of computer skills, including Advanced Microsoft Office, focus on enhanced Excel skillset.
  • Must have the ability to operate in a corporate environment, dealing with all levels of management.
  • Must have demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills and unconditional integrity and commitment to financial accuracy.
  • Must be authorized to work in US indefinitely without any sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation of standard cost policies, processes and procedures, and executing standard costs rolls within operating systems on an annual basis or as required.
  • Prepare and develop Sales & Margins reports including costing details and summary compilations to be used as basis of financial statement reports on a periodic basis.
  • Monitor and review standard and project costs and related routings pertaining to Bill of Materials within company financial and logistic systems.
  • Complete manufacturing cost comparison of models produced along with entire product assessment for sales and margin monthly.
  • Assist in developing annual and quarterly forecasts.
  • Lead Annual Physical Inventory for External Audit along with necessary cycle count program.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the Used & Leased truck fleets including quoting, contracts, and all necessary documents.
  • Participate in monthly closing and general ledger activities, and prepare account reconciliations and other schedules as necessary.
  • Assist in developing various reports for Managers & Executives.
  • Insure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Prepare and complete work product, in a timely manner, and other internal management as required
  • Communicate effectively at all levels of management, supervision.
  • Show effective concern for the quality of all output and the needs, concerns and priorities of all “customers” both internal and external to the company.
