About The Position

The Cost Accountant will prepare and record journal entries for month-end close, balance, and analyze general ledger accounts including reconciliations for certain balance sheet accounts. This position will work closely with management to understand variances in monthly results and effectively achieve financial objectives. Publish Monthly Profitability and Daily Sales reporting. Provide audit support and management.

Requirements

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Must have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a Cost Accounting role.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Knowledge of cost accounting procedures and practices and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Ability to analyze data and draw logical conclusions to accurately process, provide, and implement accounting information
Professionalism, dependability, integrity, and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitude.
Highly motivated individual with the ability to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Advance knowledge of personal computer applications (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) to facilitate accounting operations.

CPA or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

Record monthly journal entries for month-end closing process.
Assist in Unit Month End Sales processing.
Analyze and report on various general ledger account balances
Analyzing sales and gross profit accounts during the month-end close.
Provide daily, monthly and ad hoc reporting of sales and gross profit.
Provide support for annual and interim audits as needed.
Responsible for recording and tracking all documents relating to the physical inventories.
Complete all tasks within a timely manner
Effectively communicate with supervisor.
Provide support for branch personnel and management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
