About The Position

Under general direction, responsible for moderate to complex activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts and for developing financial statements and reports. Conducts moderate to complex assignments involving accounting projects that require a broad knowledge of accounting practices and procedures. Supports timely and accurate reporting of sales and cost of sales and inventory at standard costs in accordance with Company accounting policies and reporting requirements, internal and external audit recommendations, as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Requirements

3-5+ years in accounting
Bachelor/University Degree in Accounting
An understanding of GAAP and internal controls, the preparation of journal entries, the accounting treatment of manufacturing accounting transactions, and how to generate reports.
Basic to intermediate understanding of integrated ERP systems and the relationship of Finance data and processes to other areas in the Company. Ability to understand the implications of system errors on unit costs or financial statements.
Utilizes digital tools to perform tasks at a high level of productivity. Experience with Tableau, PeopleSoft Financials, and JD Edwards is highly beneficial. Strong knowledge of general ledger, query, and reporting. High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially advanced Excel, is beneficial.
Builds and maintains trusting relationships by actively listening to stakeholders and backing up opinions with facts, knowledge, and logic. Good verbal and written communication skills to interface with personnel at all levels both in the U.S. and internationally and with external auditors to provide support and for issue resolution.
Organizes and structures presentations or communications in a way that is easily understandable to the audience.
Strong organizational and time management skills to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be able to exercise extreme discretion in dealing with confidential information including financial and audit information.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Tableau, PeopleSoft Financials, and JD Edwards is highly beneficial.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially advanced Excel, is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Maintains, reconciles, and analyzes moderate to complex general ledger account balances. Investigates unusual transactions, finds root issues, and escalates when appropriate.
Exercises judgment to apply accounting and reporting rules, apply government regulations, and record financial transactions in accordance with GAAP.
Prepares monthly journal entries, variance analysis, and account reconciliations related to sales, cost of sales, accounts receivable or inventory accounts.
Prepares monthly, quarterly, and year-end schedules for internal and external audits for accounts and activities assigned.
Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial supply chain, or tax reports accurately and timely.
Identifies irregularities and inconsistencies in data and performs root cause analysis to effectively address variances with business partners. Advises management of reasons for unusual trends, variances, or other pending issues.
Partners with various functional areas to understand transactions and processes and to provide timely and meaningful feedback of performance to management.
Utilizes Microsoft Excel, Tableau, or other software to provide customers with visual information (charts, tables) needed to highlight results and issues.
Provides support to business partners in making informed decisions by performing ad hoc analysis as needed.
Assists with report testing or with testing the financial aspects of ERP system upgrades, modifications, and implementations for the area.
Independently performs research and analysis projects as independently identified or as requested by Management.
Continuously assesses internal processes and implements changes that enable greater process efficiency or enhanced reporting.
