About The Position

Join our team in Exton, PA Since 1975, Omega Flex has been supplying quality engineered flexible metal hose products that meet demanding industrial, commercial and residential applications. We are currently looking to hire a Corrugator for our Medi Trac Division. The ideal candidate MUST be able to make the commute to Exton, PA as this is an onsite position. Position Overview: Perform operations assigned and directed to set up and operate continuous corrugating machines (RP-Rotary Process) to draw, form, weld and corrugate raw material into annular corrugated flexible metallic tubing in accordance with schedules, specifications, detail drawings, established methods, procedures and workload priorities. Work involves setup and operation of a broad range of specifications in its entirety in accordance with production schedule. Provides setup and adjustment assistance to lower class Corrugator operators within scope of experience gained under limited direction. Capable of operating segmentor as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 months' experience as Class B operator or equivalent.
  • Commensurate work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Have reliable transportation to manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Have the ability to handle and work with raw material (metal strip) in a safe manner.
  • Identify raw materials and Bare Medical Tubing (BMT) by part numbers.
  • Performing complete line setup including, roll form tooling change, belt change, corrugator tooling change and all other aspects of machine setup.
  • Perform coil splicing operation.
  • Troubleshoot and perform adjustments as needed to tube mill to produce acceptable tube for corrugating.
  • Troubleshoot and perform adjustments to corrugator to produce in spec corrugated tubing.
  • Perform in process inspection: ID, OD and corrugations per foot measurements, crush and hydrostatic test.
  • Perform various evaluation testing including but not limited to; bend test, tubing and fitting impact testing, axial strength test.
  • Visually inspect, mark and report as needed gross defects in product, such as; holes, dents, and miss formed corrugations.
  • Perform weld-width inspection using a microscope station.
  • Perform BMT pressure testing.
  • Monitor argon pressure levels and safely perform an argon bottle 12 pack change over.
  • Complete manufacturing records, including but not limited to; setup sheets, production, and testing.
  • Run work in process in accordance with scheduled work order.
  • Follow operational work procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly working environment.
  • Run prototype and production trial runs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
