About The Position

The Corrugator Manager is responsible for leading, coaching, and managing the corrugator team to achieve high levels of productivity, quality, and safety. This role promotes continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and develops employee skills through structured training and coaching. The position also identifies and plans training initiatives to help team members expand their skills and level of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the production process, including the ability to read and interpret production orders and routings.
  • Lead and communicate a structured departmental development plan focused on key performance areas such as efficiency, waste reduction, downtime, and material consumption.
  • Establish and maintain departmental goals, systems, and performance standards.
  • Develop, update, and communicate procedures and processes that enhance employee safety, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency through continuous improvement.
  • Respond effectively to production and quality issues by initiating corrective actions and implementing process or production improvements.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives within the department while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Manager to support the preventive maintenance (PM) program and prioritize maintenance issues requiring attention.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with employees, Shift Managers, and Supervisors through reports and written communications related to production results, quality issues, and departmental goals.
  • Assist with interviewing, selection, onboarding, and training of new employees.
  • Evaluate employee performance to ensure expectations and goals are being met.
  • Coach, mentor, and counsel employees as needed to support performance improvement and professional development.
  • Manage and maintain inventory levels for work-in-process materials.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in corrugated packaging methodologies, equipment, and technology.
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the department and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Understand and follow Crisis Management procedures and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Review and approve daily timesheets and production reports for each shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and business objectives.
