About The Position

The Corrosion Supervisor II, Midcon East Midstream leads a team of Corrosion Technicians ensuring efficient and effective corrosion control for Midstream assets in the region. The Supervisor drives corrosion efficiency in all parts of the corrosion process including planning, scheduling, materials availability, operations’ preparation, work permitting, field execution, and craft flexibility.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • 3 or more years of corrosion control experience

  • AMPP Certification
  • NACE Certification
  • Associate’s degree or higher in a related field
  • 6 or more years of corrosion control or related experience
  • Prior experience as a people leader
  • Prior pipeline or terminal experience
  • Knowledge of DOT 195 (49 CFR 195)
  • Knowledge of DOT 192 (49 CFR 192)

Responsibilities

  • Act as a working supervisor, providing leadership to an area corrosion control team responsible for pipeline and facility assets for the area.
  • Assign asset responsibilities to team members and ensure the team is trained and qualified.
  • Provide developmental coaching to employees and hold yourself and the team accountable to high performance standards.
  • Establish priorities, communicate the action plan, and connect the plan to the broader Phillips 66 strategy.
  • Provide guidance to staff in troubleshooting.
  • Proactively assess the overall corrosion program and develop short-term and long-term programs for the area of responsibility.
  • Communicate the overall health of system integrity related to corrosion to various stakeholders.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure corrective action plans are in place to resolve corrosion-related issues based on smart tool run inspections, with the goal of stopping internal and external corrosion.
  • Review and approve corrosion project execution plans.
  • Participate in high-level field testing and inspection.
  • Provide technical support to projects.
  • Ensure completion of annual cathodic protection surveys.
  • Ensure completion of rectifier and bond inspections.
  • Ensure completion of internal coupon inspections.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations to mitigate corrosion control issues.
  • Utilize the CPDM (Cathodic Protection Data Management) software to record, monitor, and evaluate CP data to ensure 100% compliance.
  • Complete and issue CP compliance reports.
  • Coordinate the efforts of operations and maintenance personnel, as well as contractors when they provide corrosion control services.
  • Prepare proposed budgets for corrosion control and coating repair programs and track approved budgets, including accruals.
  • Support IMP data analysis and assessments.
  • Ensure timely and effective flow of corrosion-related data from field activities to databases used by other functions for analysis and planning.
  • Support Pipeline Integrity Programs (ILI evaluations, etc.).
  • Actively participate with teams in the corrosion function regarding best practices and compliance issues.
  • Respond to emergencies as requested.
