About The Position

Valkyrie Enterprises has a need for a Project Manager who will be a key person to perform management and technical duties to monitor and control the progress of multi-discipline engineering tasks. Located in Mayport, Florida. Lead team(s) in the performance of corrosion control and preservation on Naval Vessel freeboard, superstructure, decks, anchors, life raft racks, tanks, compartments and any other shipboard system or area utilizing required and specialized coating applications. Lead team and ensure proper Preparation of all types of surfaces for preservation. Ensure work is completed in compliance with within the requirements of NAVSEA Standards or other requirements for the job. Ensure the proper removal of old paint and debris from all types of substrates by scraping, chipping, and sanding as well as using innovation such laser removal all keeping in accordance with proper environmental requirements. Apply coatings in accordance with specifications and good marine practice. Brush and Roll painting to pass all inspection processes. Must be able to supervise a team to ensure quality work in a timely, safe manner meeting daily goals and perform standard work that is dependent upon schedule demands. Ability to use basic hand tools and machinery to perform the corrosion and coating applications and to show team how to properly use same. Ability to perform multiple tasking and meet critical deadlines. Must be able to ensure proper timekeeping of team and be able to report data of tasks accomplished on a daily basis

Requirements

  • Must have bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience of at least 7 years of Corrosion Control experience leading work teams as supervisor or above.
  • Must have Working knowledge of project management principles; the ability to detect and resolve conflicts within the scope of the assigned projects and to detect and resolve risks to maintain the assigned projects within budgets and schedules.
  • Familiar with timekeeping of multiple individuals and teams and cost reporting and and tracking of materials and equipment utilization
  • Has documented and demonstrated technical background and leadership skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of shipyard/Naval Base operations, Shipboard operations, NAVSEA instructions, Environmental compliance with Corrosion Control and general AIT contractor knowledge.
  • Must have general working knowledge of computers/technology and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.   Must be able to use IPAD to document work status on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to provide technical, administrative, and operational leadership to assigned task(s) including subcontractor/vendor management at the site.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance to access military facilities, naval shipyards, private shipyards, and naval installations.
  • Must have a REAL ID. (Must be obtained before start date)
  • Must be able to acquire DBIDS access to Naval Bases which comes from passing basic security clearance background check.  Must have DBIDS before being put in work site.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Navy E-7-E9 preferred.
  • PMP certification
  • Prefer experience using Microsoft Project to write proposals
  • Previous experience in reading/developing drawings for the navy and MSC ships.
  • Passport holder preferred.
  • Knowledge within corrosion control, paintings and top coating.
