What You Will Be Doing: Lead a small team focused on corrective action for manufacturing across multiple portions of the build. Conduct critical reviews of processes to identify gaps and close the process gaps with the intent of reducing variation and discrepancies in the build. Collaborate with quality engineering and production operations to triage repeat failure modes in a production environment. Utilize lean six sigma toolsets to identify root causes and develop corrective action plans. Collaborate with team members to explore out-of-the-box thinking and contribute to product improvement initiatives. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree
  • Green belt certification
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment working cross functionally with other disciplines including quality assurance, production operations, design engineering, industrial engineer, project engineer, manufacturing engineering, and/or process engineering
  • Experience supporting air vehicle assembly and part assembly including some combination of the following: composites fabrication, metallics fabrication, structural assembly, systems installation, test operations
  • Experience in integrated corrective action, cause map development, RCCA
  • Active secret security clearance with an investigation in the last 5 years or enrollment in CE
  • Ability to obtain special program access within 3 months of start

Nice To Haves

  • STEM degree preferred with 9+ years of experience
  • Previous team lead experience preferred.
  • Black belt certification
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification
  • Experience with audit teams or performing process audits
  • Experience facilitation kaizen events and tiger team efforts
  • Demonstrated ability to drive issues to closure and develop preventative action plan to limit failures in the future.
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering blueprints, model based engineering, process specifications. and manufacturing planning.
  • Self-starter with ability to operate with limited direction.
  • Experience working in 3D modelling software (CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, Nx), Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM) programs (e.g. 3DX, Teamcenter, PDM, etc.), and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) programs (iBASEt, SAP, etc.).
