About The Position

FULL TIME JOB OPENINGS FOR Corrections Trainee / Corrections Officer at the Washington County Sheriff's Office Women and Minorities encouraged to apply Performs a variety of entry level certified or non-certified duties related to the security, safety, order, operation and maintenance of county jail facilities including detention and monitoring of inmates. Full-Time, with Benefits Corrections Trainees start at $26.00 per hour, increase to $30.45 per hour once certified (typically within the first 8-12 months of employment) Variety of Roles and Assignments could be possible as you develop your skills throughout your career: Inmate Housing Inmate Booking Courts & Transport Inmate Work Crews Drug Task Force Inmate Programming Patrol School Resource Officer K-9 Officer Detective

Requirements

• Graduation from High School or GED.
• Must be at least 19 years of age by 12/06/2025
• Candidates MUST attend ONE of the Testing and Interview Days to be considered. Dates will be announced once the job posting has closed.
• Testing held at the Washington County Sheriff's Office 750 5300 W, Hurricane, Utah 84737
• Run 1.5 miles in 16:11, 14 push-ups (continuous exercise), hold a plank position for 30 seconds (replaces sit-up requirement)
• Candidates must be able to pass an extensive background investigation
