The Mission of the Luther Luckett Correctional Complex, in accordance with the Department of Corrections is twofold:
To promote public safety, secure incarceration from the community; and,
To give felons the opportunities for the capability to contribute positively to society upon release through use of constructive classification, programs, and work assignment.
The Corrections Recreation Leader at the Luther Luckett Correctional Complex is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising recreational activities to meet specific needs, interests, and abilities of inmates within the facility.

Requirements

• EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
• EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE
• Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
• Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in planned recreation, physical education, or related activities will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of all recreational areas
• Directing leagues, tournaments, and holiday events for all inmate populations
• Maintain records and inventories of recreational equipment
• Ensure security of all recreational areas in an adult correctional setting
• Maintain records and reports for recreational areas
• Instruct inmate recreational staff
