The institutional Investigator coordinates all investigations referred to them and acts decisively in providing the proper disposition or avenue of disposition. The Institutional Investigator also provides direct supervision to the Intelligence Officer. Receives information and complaints from employees, inmates and the general public regarding suspicions and/or observations of crimes or violations of law, rules, regulations and policies and investigates allegations and reports incidents to the Special investigative Unit (SIU) as outlined in Department of Corrections (DOC) policy. Conducts investigations on all assignments received from the Warden. Gives assistance and directions to staff and inmates. Contributes to the public safety mission by providing first line supervision to Corrections Officers and Corrections Officer Trainees in an institutional setting. Gives assistance and directions to staff and inmates. Supervises and monitors staff on assigned shift to ensure a safe and secure environment. Communicates with management, staff, visitors, inmates and the public. Leads and counsels staff. Completes required training. Maintains a safe and productive workforce.
