About The Position

As a Corrections General Industries Factory Supervisor, you will supervise staff and inmate workers in the manufacturing, production, and processing of products and services within SCI Phoenix's Correctional Industries Laundry Shop. You will oversee the performance of routine and non-routine work, provide orientation and training, and ensure compliance with shop regulations, job duties, and safety requirements. You will also, determine the most practical and economical use of materials, labor, and machines from inception through completion of each project. This role requires the ability to establish effective working relationships and strong communication skills to ensure inmates learn the standard principles, products, and services used to operate a laundry shop. In addition, you will evaluate all inmate work assignments, maintain training progress reports, and make quality improvement recommendations to maximize output efficiency.

Requirements

  • One year as a Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in the production of goods or services, which includes one year of lead work experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of lead work experience in the production of goods or services.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
