About The Position

The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking a Corrections Clerk III to work at the Pontiac Correctional Center. This position gathers information and data for facility Operations reports, coordinates and schedules court-related legal meetings for facility staff to attend and supervises daily clerical operations. In addition, this position performs clerical duties to verify tasks of the AWO’s office are complete. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school.
  • Requires one (1) year clerical supervisory experience.
  • Requires completion of an approved course in guard training within six months of employment.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefers at least two (2) years of working experience collecting information to assemble reports, files and records.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of working experience coordinating court-related notices for facility staff.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of working experience supervising clerical operations.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers information and data to compile and track a variety of facility Operations reports.
  • Coordinates and schedules court-related legal and education notice meetings for facility staff to attend.
  • Supervises the daily clerical operations in the Assistant Warden of Operations (AWO) Office.
  • Performs clerical duties to verify tasks of the AWO’s office are complete.
