This position requires considerable knowledge of correctional workshop operating policies and procedures of the Ohio Penal Industries (OPI) shop. The specialist oversees the work of incarcerated individuals assigned to the OPI workshop and/or engaged in service delivery, providing security and custody. The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) is guided by a single mission: "To reduce recidivism among those we touch." The ODRC has been tasked with front line crime reduction through rehabilitative treatment and programming efforts provided in a safe, secure and humane correctional environment and effective community supervision.
