The Job Opportunity and Duties… Works under direction and requires considerable knowledge of correctional workshop operating policies and procedures of the Ohio Penal Industries (OPI) shop. Oversees work of incarcerated individuals assigned to the OPI workshop and/or engaged in service delivery. Provides security and custody of incarcerated individuals. Trains incarcerated individuals in proper work methods, equipment operation and/or safety practices in the assigned area. Enforces institution rules and regulations. Maintains control of supplies, equipment, and tools (e.g., issues and records daily tool and chemical usage, inventory supplies). Assigns and reviews work (e.g., schedules incarcerated individuals; monitors and evaluates work performed and completes quality control check). Ensures quality control specifications of products. Prepares and maintains records and reports of workshop activities. Inputs data into manufacturing system as assigned, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Oversees equipment maintenance (e.g., schedules routine and preventative maintenance) and/or workshop cleaning Escorts and/or transports incarcerated individuals. Oversees shipping, receiving, storage and/or inventory of products and materials. Prepares and submits reports. Completes daily and month-end inmate payroll, month-end Earned Credit report, inmate performance evaluations (e.g., annual and special), and weekly inspection report. Performs other related duties and security functions as assigned. Attends in-service trainings. Works on special projects and committees. Assists with ACA (e.g., institutional and OPI) files. May be utilized in any other OPI shop due to staff shortage and/or extenuating circumstances. Must conduct themselves professionally, and in a law-abiding manner at all times and in accordance with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Standards of Employee Conduct. Performs other duties as assigned. Position Specific Minimum Qualification: Class A Commercial Driver’s License Required.
