About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Correctional Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive healthcare services within a secure facility setting. The RN will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care, administering medications, assisting providers, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of professional RN experience
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma or Degree)
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of employment
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong clinical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a structured and secure environment
  • Patient assessment and care management
  • Medication administration and documentation
  • Emergency response and critical thinking
  • Leadership and team supervision
  • Compliance, safety, and confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by licensed providers
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures
  • Conduct sick calls and prepare patients for evaluation
  • Assess and respond to inmate/resident health concerns, including emergencies
  • Monitor patient conditions and coordinate referrals to external healthcare facilities when necessary
  • Supervise and support LPNs and non-licensed medical staff
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical records
  • Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and assist with care coordination
  • Perform audits and ensure compliance with pharmacy and healthcare regulations
  • Observe and document patient behavior and clinical status
  • Maintain a safe environment by identifying and addressing potential contraband risks
  • Provide health education and counseling to patients
  • Assist in preparing reports, logs, and documentation
  • Support accreditation and quality improvement initiatives
  • Respond to legal, regulatory, and emergency situations as required
