The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. This is an anticipated vacancy. This position is expected to be available on 3-2-26. Reporting to the Correctional Associate Warden for Programs, this position will ensure the effective verbal and written communication with other staff, offenders, and the general public. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Coordinate with GEO Group (contract agency for program services) to develop, implement, maintain, and supervise supplemental correctional programs with a focus on reentry preparation for offenders housed at a 90-day CRV Center. Coordinate offender activities while ensuring security operations are considered and supported. Coordinate the facility's community volunteer program, maintaining accurate records of approved volunteers, and scheduling regular training for new volunteers and renewals. Coordinate offender recreation programs. Coordinate the religious services calendar and maintains monthly reports for the division. Provide immediate supervision of (2) admissions technicians, ensuring that intake/processing tasks are completed as required. Communicate with external stakeholders to develop and maintain relationships to enrich facility program offerings. Provide supportive counseling and crisis intervention as necessary. Communicate effectively in verbal and written form with staff, offenders, and public. Complete all assigned tasks and reports accurately and timely. Serve as a member of the facility management team, attending weekly IDT meetings, regional programs meetings as required, and serve as a member of the facility Behavior Management Team to review offender non-compliance issues. North Piedmont CRV is a Confinement in Response to Violation correctional facility for females, housing 136 offenders, with 56 employees. Probation/parole violators are housed for up to a 90-day sentence. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). The selected candidate will work Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm.
