This position is located at Orange Correctional Center in Hillsborough, NC. Orange County. Orange Correctional Center is a male minimum custody facility. Reporting to the Associate Warden of Operations, Employees in this class are responsible for supervision of Correctional Food Service Officers and providing oversight of inmates performing large-scale food production at minimum custody prison facilities. The work involves the supervision of the preparation and service of regular and therapeutic diets for the inmate population. Employees plan, direct, and supervise the daily preparation and serving of food to inmates. Work includes food preparation and serving, storage, menu planning, menu planning using substitutions, maintaining sanitation requirements, and related recordkeeping. Employees use computerize food and nutrition system to prepare and serve daily meal. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). The selected candidate may be selected to work any shift and will work weekends and holidays to ensure 24/7 staff coverage. Orange Correctional Center in Hillsborough NC is a minimum-security prison for adult males. The prison originally housed medium custody offenders and was converted to a minimum-security unit in 1966. Piedmont Community College works with the prison to provide vocational classes in food service technology and light construction. The State of North Carolina offers excellent comprehensive benefits.
