The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters! Reporting to the Correctional Program Supervisor, this position is responsible for a case load of offenders, job duties to include but not limited to: Developing case plans, answering and following up on offender questions and problems, and making recommendations to the classification committee. Assisting in major dynamic programs or coordinating major or specialized programs for the rehabilitation of offenders, such as offender work assignments, work release, education, or recreation as well as transition planning and coordinating. Planning and coordinate transition (re-entry) prior to parole or release into the community. Dan River Prison Work Farm is in Blanch, NC. The facility sits on a 187.5-acre site in the north-central area of Caswell County and houses felon and misdemeanant minimum custody adult male offenders. Work assignments include food service, maintenance, janitorial and other institutional jobs. Other assignments include maintenance work at Caswell Correctional Center and the offender construction program.
