The Correctional Case Manager position involves providing routine social casework in the classification and assignment of offenders committed to a correctional institution or advanced social casework pertaining to the re-entry of offenders into the community. The role includes using interview techniques and assessment instruments to determine the offender's security risks and programmatic needs, preparing case history reports, and recommending program assignments. The case manager will also review work and conduct records of assigned offenders, advise them on personal problems, and deliver programs designed to assist in successful re-entry into the community following release from incarceration.
