This job assumes resposibility for administering flu vaccines during employee flu fair events. Provides care within the framework of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited LPN program
  • Current LPN License in the state of practice
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
  • Proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Administers flu vaccines
  • Disposes of bio-hazardous waste in the appropriate and prescribed manner
  • Assists with set up and dismantle of flu fair event site
  • Ensures appropriate consent forms are completed prior to flu vaccine administration
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
