About The Position

The Corporate Trust Specialist role at UMB supports the Corporate Trust team, which is a nationally recognized provider of bond trustee and agency services to corporate and municipal marketplaces, including aviation, reinsurance, and funeral trusts, as well as escrow and custodial services. This specialist position acts as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring an unparalleled customer experience. The role provides highly complex support to an assigned group of specialty niche clients in the distressed debt space, which are some of the largest trustee clients with the most complex needs. Responsibilities include resolving complex administrative issues, supporting senior-level client staff, and providing customized department-wide training, instruction, and technical development. The specialist will handle default/workout clients and other complex accounts, providing day-to-day support for institutional/corporate trust accounts. This involves billing for administrative fees, facilitating transaction closings, managing cash and investment transactions, providing debt service calculations, ensuring accurate and timely system setup, preparing accounts for compliance review, reviewing legal documents, and partnering with the corporate legal team to ensure operational mechanics are appropriate and to negotiate document provisions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Support a group of clients that are a specialty niche clientele
  • Work within a group of specialists to resolve administrative issues within the group of assigned distressed accounts
  • Review transaction structures and legal documents to ensure operational mechanics are appropriate
  • Collaborate with internal groups across UMB’s Corporate Trust teams to ensure accounts are setup on all systems correctly and in a timely manner
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients
