About The Position

The Corporate Trainer will be responsible for the creation, development, and administration of training programs to meet specific business needs for new and existing employees. The Corporate Trainer is accountable for identifying the skills, knowledge, and abilities necessary for team members to perform their duties successfully and will provide accurate training of ALCOVA systems and processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent education and experience; college degree in a relevant field preferred
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
  • Must exhibit patience and understanding in all interactions
  • Training experience in the mortgage industry is required
  • Must have well-rounded knowledge of the mortgage industry as a whole
  • Expert-level knowledge of Encompass software is required
  • Confident and comfortable training large groups
  • Must be able to take risks and learn new things
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be enthusiastic, energetic, empathetic, and creative
  • Must be a self-started, resourceful, and value accountability
  • Passion to serve others both internal and external to the organization
  • Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Must be able to evaluate issues, assess risk, and be decisive
  • Able to understand and respond appropriately to basic inquires
  • Able to read, write, and communicate using the English language sufficient to perform job functions
  • Able to use Company equipment in assigned area (including but not limited to telephone, copiers fax machines, computers, internet, etc.).
  • Able to access, input, retrieve, and interpret information using applicable computer systems (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, industry-specific computer software, etc.).
  • Well-versed with keyboard shortcuts and able to identity new ways to complete a task in less time
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Works well both independently and in a group with little supervision
  • Compliance with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, and Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC) requirements is required. Employee must complete annual training in these areas

Nice To Haves

  • Experience training Loan Originators/ Officers/Ops is preferred
  • Experience using or training in nCino is preferred
  • Experience as a Loan Originator/ Officer /Operational functions is preferred
  • Experience with Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA and Bond loan types

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with VP of Training to create training collateral
  • Create written training materials for the Loan Originator, Loan Originator Assistant, and Processing roles
  • Create training collateral – written, videos, training decks, etc.
  • Create and facility training session both in-person and virtually
  • Maintain and update training collateral as needed
  • Develop additional value-added training as deemed necessary
  • Educate employees regarding process flows that are specific to Alcova Mortgage.
  • Create small training modules for the Wednesday Wakeup sessions
  • Conduct training specifically for Encompass
  • Conduct training specially for nCino
  • Educate employees regarding process flows that are specific to ALCOVA Mortgage
  • Answer questions and provide guidance around issues that pertain to training
  • Review employee loan files after training and provide feedback
  • Aspirations to learn more formal training methods including:
  • Learning about adult learning styles
  • Learning about the pathways to facilitation
  • Developing engagement techniques
  • Incorporating games and testing methods into training
  • Developing eCourses
