Job Responsibilities As a Staff Accountant at the Corporate level, you will apply accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Your specific duties in this role will include:
Requirements
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in accounting (hotel accounting preferred)
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Solid organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Sage 300 (Accpac) Accounting software and ProfitSword Hotel software preferred
- Experience importing and exporting data between business applications a plus.
Responsibilities
- Prepare various financial statements, including Profit & Loss by working with the hotel(s) leadership
- Respond to hotel requests and inquiries with the appropriate level of sensitivity and immediacy while upholding business goals.
- Prepare and monitor daily Income Journal entries
- Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
- Review expenditures in accordance with budgets
- Monitor inventory levels and advise management of variances
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Maintain fixed asset records
- Assist with bank statement reconciliation
- Assist in preparation of year-end audit schedules for independent auditors
- Assist with NYS Sales & Use Tax and Hotel Occupancy tax filings
