About The Position

The Corporate Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting function through accurate preparation, analysis, and maintenance of financial records and reports. This role includes managing general accounting operations, supporting month-end and quarterly closes, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The position will also collaborate cross-functionally to support audits, reporting requirements, and process improvement initiatives that enhance financial accuracy and efficiency. This position reports to our Senior Manager, Accounting. Location: This is a remote position required to be located in Eastern Timezone.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting or corporate environment preferred).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and general business concepts.
  • Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting month-end close or auditing such.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with accounting software and general ledger systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to adapt to shifting priorities.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to work with confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in Intacct, Lease Query and FloQast is a big plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
  • Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial reports and forecasts for the management team.
  • Support internal and external financial reporting requirements.
  • Provide data and serve as a liaison during external audits; assist with audit schedules and requests.
  • Partner with the Senior Accounting Manager and FP&A team on fixed asset projects through out the company.
  • Monitor and analyze expense trends, operational results, and project contracts to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Support payroll processing and related reconciliations.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies, recommending solutions, and supporting implementation.
  • Support Senior Accounting Manager during deal transactions and setting up opening balance sheets.
  • Ensure all active projects are supported by valid, binding contracts.
  • Perform analysis of operations on a monthly basis to provide insights into performance trends.
  • Assist with other special projects and responsibilities as assigned.
