About The Position

Corporate Social Responsibility Portfolio Strategist Department: 12125 Enterprise Corporate - Corporate Social Responsibility Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: exempt/regular - The ideal candidate would reside in NC/GA Division (NC,SC,GA). Pay Range $33.05 - $49.60 Major Responsibilities Portfolio & Stakeholder Management Manage a defined portfolio of internal and external stakeholders including nonprofit partners, civic leaders, philanthropic organizations, business units, and regional collaborators. Ensure all partnerships and initiatives align to enterprise CSR strategy, market needs, and Advocate Health values. Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships that enhance execution, accelerate impact, and support long-term portfolio success. Conduct ongoing stakeholder assessments, risk reviews, and environmental scans to identify opportunities, gaps, and emerging trends. Strategic Execution Implement portfolio-specific CSR strategies. Contribute to enterprise strategy execution across the CSR Centers of Excellence: Invests, Serves, Gives, and CSR Operations. Identify opportunities to strengthen portfolio alignment, close strategic gaps, and mitigate operational or reputational risk. Ensure portfolio activities advance enterprise commitments to equity, health improvement, and community partnership. Program & Project Management Lead end to end planning, coordination, and execution of CSR initiatives. Develop project plans, manage deliverables, and ensure all initiatives meet enterprise standards for impact, quality, and timeliness. Apply project management discipline to ensure adherence to scope, timeline, and budget. Ensure programs are scalable, measurable, and compliant with enterprise governance. Budget & Resource Stewardship Manage assigned portfolio budgets with attention to accuracy, compliance, and responsible resource allocation. Support the CSR Director(s) in achieving budget goals, forecasting needs, and aligning investments with enterprise priorities. Maintain transparency and audit readiness through documentation and adherence to financial governance. Impact Assessment & Reporting Monitor, evaluate, and report on portfolio performance, outcomes, and community impact. Support development of dashboards, scorecards, and reporting frameworks across CSR COEs and in partnership with Data & Insights. Use quantitative and qualitative data to generate insights and recommendations that strengthen enterprise impact. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment Partner with teams across CSR, Strategic Operations, Communications, Community Engagement, Workforce Strategy, Finance, and Data & Insights. Support enterprise initiatives related to community investments, sponsorships, volunteerism, in-kind giving, crisis response, and leadership engagement. Promote a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, innovation, equity, and continuous learning. External Representation & Relationship Building Represent Advocate Health in external meetings, community partnerships, civic engagements, and coalitions. Strengthen relationships with nonprofits and key stakeholders to deepen community impact and reinforce Advocate Health’s visibility and reputation. Compliance & Governance Ensure all activities comply with enterprise policies, regulatory requirements, financial governance, and audit standards. Maintain meticulous documentation and portfolio audit readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, Public Health, Data Analytics, Communications, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in CSR, nonprofit management, sustainability, community investments, volunteerism, stakeholder engagement, or related fields.
  • Experience managing stakeholder portfolios or complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Knowledge of CSR best practices, ESG frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment and strategic thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes with professionalism and clarity.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business administration, Public Policy, Public Health, Environmental Studies, Social Impact, or related field.
  • Advanced certification in CSR, ESG, Corporate Citizenship, or Project Management.
  • Professional training in analytics, reporting, or change management.
  • 5 or more years of progressively responsible experience in CSR, philanthropy, ESG, or community investments.
  • Experience managing complex departmental or multimarket budgets.
  • Experience partnering with executive leaders, boards, or high profile stakeholders.
  • Experience developing impact reporting tools, dashboards, or evaluation frameworks.
  • Proficiency with CSR or grant management platforms (e.g., Benevity, Your Cause, Blackbaud).
  • Strong data fluency and ability to interpret impact metrics.
  • Skilled in risk assessment, environmental scanning, and stakeholder analysis.
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to navigate sensitive community and partner dynamics.
  • Ability to connect portfolio work to enterprise priorities and strategic objectives.
