About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead and optimize payroll operations for a fast-growing parking services company with more than 7,000 employees nationwide. This role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end payroll processing while managing ADP Payroll and UKG Time & Labor Management (TLM) systems to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of recent payroll management experience, including hands-on processing and team leadership, and will play a key role in driving payroll system improvements, managing complex integrations, and ensuring compliance across multiple states. This position supports a diverse, hourly-heavy, and rapidly expanding workforce. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for processing payroll for at least one company code and serving as a backup for other team members when needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing payroll systems, with hands-on expertise in ADP and UKG platforms in a large, multi-state US environment.
  • Strong knowledge of US payroll laws, tax regulations, wage and hour rules, and compliance requirements relevant to the parking or service industry.
  • Demonstrated experience handling complex payroll processes for large employee populations (7,000+ employees).
  • Proven ability to lead payroll system projects including implementation, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing, tax filings, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, IT, and external vendors.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the parking, transportation, or facilities management industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with timekeeping and scheduling complexities typical of hourly and shift-based employees.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy and security best practices in payroll processing.
  • The ability to train and mentor payroll staff and system users effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage payroll platforms, primarily ADP Workforce Now and UKG Workforce Ready, ensuring seamless payroll processing for a large, multi-state employee base.
  • Act as a working manager, processing payroll for an assigned company code and stepping in as backup for team members during peak periods or absences.
  • Lead payroll system implementations, upgrades, and integrations with time and attendance, HRIS, and finance systems tailored to the parking industry’s operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax filings, wage and hour laws, and employment standards for a multi-jurisdictional workforce.
  • Troubleshoot payroll system issues and collaborate closely with vendors, IT, and HR to maintain system performance and data integrity.
  • Develop and maintain payroll controls, audits, and reporting to safeguard accuracy and compliance.
  • Generate and analyze payroll reports to provide insights for leadership and support internal/external audits.
  • Provide training, documentation, and support to payroll on ADP and UKG system functionalities.
  • Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and service level agreements to ensure high-quality payroll system support.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and implement necessary system and process updates proactively.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll activities, including reconciliations and compliance reporting.
