About The Position

Serfilco Ltd, a worldwide leading manufacturer and supplier of pumps and filters to chemical processing industries currently has a vacancy for a Corporate Operations Manager in our Northbrook, IL facility. OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB Under the general direction of the CEO, the Corporate Operations Manager is responsible for operations, including planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating activities of production, engineering, R&D, procurement, product management, facilities, and quality assurance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Operations, Supply Chain, or Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations leadership of manufacturing
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time and maintain a strong presence on the plant floor.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in long-term strategic planning and implement a comprehensive operations strategy aligned with business goals and growth/cost/sustainability objectives.
  • Provide daily leadership and oversight across Production, Engineering, Product Development/R&D, Procurement, Planning, Shipping/Receiving, Product Management, and Maintenance.
  • Oversee engineering activities, R&D activities, and initial development of new products or services.
  • Partner with Finance to establish and monitor operating budgets, analyze financial results, production and operating costs, labor efficiency, and variances.
  • Support operational planning, inventory management, and capital projects.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all processes and workflows; ensure proper document control, change management, and record-keeping.
  • Utilize full ERP functionality including MRP and work orders to manage cost standards, BOM’s, variances, and to provide timely and accurate financial reports and cost controls.
  • Establish, manage, and report operational KPIs including but not limited to productivity, labor utilization, throughput, scrap, yields, product development, and on-time delivery.
  • Analyze operational data using root cause analysis to develop and implement corrective action plans to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Recommend improvement to plant layout, product flow, and methods for manufacturing needs and capabilities.
  • Review existing operations and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency, productivity, profitability, cost reductions, and inventory planning.
  • Drive improvements in supply chain; including demand planning, inventory, logistics, S&OP process.
  • Develop and maintain cross-divisional collaboration, identify synergies, and integrate insights between divisions and industries to improve practices.
  • Establish and manage a strong vendor base to ensure consistent supply, reduce cost, improve quality standards, and meet inventory turns objectives.
  • Work closely with Sales to ensure alignment between functional groups to achieve the highest level of productivity and profitability.
  • Drive effective cross-functional collaboration (e.g., Engineering, Operations, Finance, Procurement and Sales) across projects and initiatives.
  • Establish and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment, compliance with OSHA standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Develop staff and support their ability to produce quality work and increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Support hiring, staffing plans, performance reviews, discipline, and corrective actions.
