About The Position

Six Flags Entertainment is seeking a Marketing Copywriter, based at the Charlotte, NC corporate office, to support multiple marketing channels. We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee brand management and creative design services throughout the Six Flags portfolio. This full-time position will report to our Director of Advertising, with design teams executing out of offices at Kings Island and Cedar Point. The role requires oversight of the creative process, including work/project prioritization, and brand management of work developed within the print/graphic and multi-media design teams. Collectively the creative services teams provide creative design services for all parks including print materials, event collateral, digital and motion graphics, promotional collateral, sales materials, video content for our in-park/on-property media network and in-park marketing signage. This role will also lead the input process (creative briefs, etc) and direction of new programs and initiatives across the appropriate creative work teams, and serve as the liaison between the creatives and business stakeholders/brand managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree: Typically in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in writing, especially for marketing, advertising, or branding.
  • Understanding of SEO principles, keyword research, and how to optimize content for search engines.
  • Ability to write engaging, clear, and persuasive copy that aligns with brand messaging.
  • Excellent grammar, punctuation, and attention to detail to ensure error-free content.
  • Familiarity with different marketing strategies, content funnels, and how to write copy that converts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead designer responsible for overall art direction of programs executed by internal teams.
  • Manage project initiation and coordination across creative services, team leads and/or partners when necessary.
  • Ensure brand stewardship and consistency/quality filter via management of creative services team.
  • Concept and provide overarching art direction on larger scale projects (e.g. event naming, net new projects).
  • Support creative brief development and communication with internal team leads and designers.
  • Manage work assignments, workflow, approvals with the support of the design teams as needed.
  • Directly manage mixed media designer and copy writer (locally in Charlotte).
  • Coordinate and direct creative development across channel owners, serving as the synergistic campaign lead.
  • Assist the creative teams in managing and prioritizing workloads.
  • Ensure a responsive, seamless, on-time process from start to finish.
  • Design and execute on specified projects.
  • Traffic projects through various stages of production as needed, partnering with project stakeholders to help to move projects along, adjusting scope and timelines as necessary.
  • Adhere to and enforce all Six Flags and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrate a commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
