About The Position

As the Human Resources Specialist you will be supporting 5-6 hotel properties in recruiting, onboarding, training, and employee relations with support from the Corporate HR Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of HR experience
  • Minimum 1 year hotel experience,
  • Demonstrates excellent skill with personal interactions, communicates effectively and builds trust and relationships.
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple priorities. Must be a critical thinker and able to problem solve.
  • Willing to travel to property locations within the state of North Carolina.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee records
  • Must be a self starter and able to work independently
  • Strong time management skills
  • Sense of urgency, result driven.
  • Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift, push, pull up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support on how to apply HR policies, procedures, and practice
  • Identifying hiring needs, prescreening, checking references, and referring qualified applicants to hotel management.
  • Keep employment records and processing paperwork
  • Assist HR manager with unemployment claims
  • Assist and provide support to the field in regards to employee and or guest incidents
  • Assist with employee claim investigations, completing timelines and questions..
  • Assist and provide guidance to management on completion of disciplinary documentation.
  • Facilitate training events, encompassing all new hires from various hotels and positions.
  • Coordinate and assist with new hire orientation, reviewing all key life safety training and benefits package.
  • Maintain and track training on LMS, ensuring compliance training is up to date.
  • Provide training to support managers in navigating all platforms .
  • Track all hotel franchise training programs to include Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt are completed.
  • Assist HR Manager with development and implementation of apprenticeship programs.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining SOPs for HR training department as needed.
  • Track mandated certifications and schedule outside training as warranted to include, ServSafe, CPR/First Aid, CPO, etc.
  • Track mandated Hotel GM, AGM, Sales training, verifying franchise mandates are met.
  • Support HR team members, providing support, training, and guidance as needed.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to discover, create or coordinate continuing education opportunities and talent development of co-workers across the organization.
  • Assist with yearly/quarterly engagement surveys.
  • Assist with planning company events, including employee recognition events, such as employee appreciation week, housekeeping week, mangers outing, holiday parties, etc.
