The position is responsible for all aspects of financial management, compliance with established processes, and timely and accurate financial statements. The Corporate Hotel Controller responsibilities include, but are not limited to, timely, responsive, and accurate completion of the following:

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of hospitality-related financial management and accounting experience at both the property level and corporate supervisory level
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or other business equivalent required
  • Understanding of the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (11th Edition)
  • Strong PC skills, including Excel, Word, and financial accounting systems
  • Strong organizational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as necessary to complete assigned tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Hotel management company experience preferred
  • CHAE certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Timely review and issuance of monthly financial statements for assigned hotel properties
  • Prepare and assist the Operations Team with the annual operating and Capital budgets, complete with support of underlying assumptions
  • Prepare and assist the Operations Team with the monthly financial forecasts
  • Review and approval of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supervision, training, and mentoring of direct reports
  • Review and approval of cash disbursements for assigned hotel properties as necessary
  • Lead and manage the monthly financial statement call with the VP of Operations
  • Analyze and present monthly financial performance against established KPIs
  • Assistance in the establishment, documentation and maintenance of Standard Accounting Policies and Procedures and internal controls
  • Assistance in the completion of internal and external financial audits, including coordination of work with CPA firms and delivering information requested by auditors on a timely basis.
  • Compliance with 11th Edition of USALI or later version as applicable
  • Preparation of any special reports, statements, etc., as requested
  • Other special projects and responsibilities as assigned
