About The Position

SPOON Events, a Catalyst MXE company, is looking for a Corporate Event Planner to manage and deliver corporate and client-facing events from concept through execution. This role manages event logistics, vendor relationships, budgets, and timelines while delivering high-quality experiences that align with organizational goals. This position requires a balance of independent work and collaboration with internal teams and clients. The ideal candidate is highly organized and proactive in identifying priorities. Project management experience and a strong ability to anticipate needs and take initiative are key to success in this role.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in event planning, hospitality, customer service, or a related field.
  • Strong client-facing communication and relationship management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% and work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event Planning, or a related field.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience managing vendor contracts and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to understand event objectives, scope, and requirements.
  • Plan and manage events from initial concept through post-event evaluation.
  • Develop and manage event timelines, budgets, and logistics including venue selection, catering, décor, transportation, AV, marketing materials, and staffing.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, venues, and event participants throughout the planning process.
  • Lead pre-event meetings and coordinate all operational details to ensure successful execution.
  • Manage vendor contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Oversee client and guest experience before, during, and after events.
  • Ensure events meet legal, safety, and regulatory requirements, including permits and insurance needs.
  • Identify tasks and priorities independently while maintaining alignment with overall event goals and deadlines.
  • Travel to event sites as required (approximately 10%).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and professionally during event execution.
